Why is the letter 'W' said as "double you" when a more accurate description would be "double vee"?
Good question! When the alphabet was still slowly coming into fruition, the "w" sound as we know it was actaully represented by two "u's." This was eventually shortened to "w." I for one am glad they changed it. The old uuay uuas uueird.

Why is bra sigular and panties plural? I am all confused now and don't know what to do!
Because that's the way it is. Who knows why... there are a few words in the English language that are singular, but are treated as plural. Glasses, pants, and panties are good examples.
