It was the weekend before thanksgiving and the slackers were there,
to have a LAN party, with goodwill to share.
Fresh faces arrived at Brad's house one by one,
The young slackers were ready for an evening of fun.
They hooked up their computers, "I'm in!" they would utter.
But one lad in the crowd was starting to mutter.
As they ate nacho cheese doritos and chatted about sports,
One face was mad, his temper was short.
"I can't see the network!" he vehemently cried,
The others, however, were not quite surprised.
For the lad who could not see the network this day,
Was none other than Courtney. Courtney Treadaway.
"Why me?!" he would cry as he smacked his computer,
"Why not Stevens, or Garland, or Thompson, or Cooper?!"
"Why does this always happen to me?"
"Thanksgiving SUCKS, I'm starting to see!"
The others stopped their 8th game of Quake 2,
They all looked at Courtney, not sure what to do.
Then someone stood up, looked at Courtney and said,
"Why don't you use mine, I'll watch TV instead."
Courtney looked at his friend as the tears started to come,
"I LOVE YOU MAN," he said to his chum.
He sat down to play as his friend watched football,
"You know," he said, "Thanksgiving's cool after all."
